A couple of years ago a buddy suggested I put a nipple on the air intake on my Universal M25 and attach the breather hose to the nipple. What he was looking at was the breather hose from my valve cover stuffed directly into the air intake, apparently a completely acceptable method to eliminate the blow-by smell from these engines – the gases go right back into the intake manifold and so does
Extending Breather Hoses: Trucks & 4x4 : Isuzu doesn t sanction deep water sports, and didn t build the stock truck to resist it without Improve the stock breathers BEFORE you go deep, or AFTER
94.5-03 PowerStroke 7.3L Crank Case Vent breather reloion Kit (also known as CCV reroute) This Crankcase Vent (CCV) kit is designed to re-route your crankcase vapors and oil away from the intercooler and turbo toward the rear of your 94.5-03 PowerStroke 7
2015/12/24· If you have no trace of oil, that''s not bad UNLESS your breather is somehow blocked. Pressure exists in that crank case when it''s running. An easy way to test this is to remove the hose off the top of the breather, or at the inlet to the oil / air separator tank, and run the bike up the RPM range while feeling for pulsing air coming out of the breather.
It is why you have the breather hose to the airbox and the drain tube in the first place. It keeps the oil pressure in the engine from reaching critical levels & blowing out a gasket. I assume that the machine is running well, with no loss of power or compression in conjunction with the oil …
If the oil level is low, there is a good chance this is what happened. Only way to get the oil out of the crankcase is to run the bike until all the oil is pumped out thru the breather. Place a pan under the breather hose to ch the oil.
2015/3/31· If droplets of oil gets blown out at the breather, the crank case has too much oil in it or compression is leaking past the pistons. Pull out the dipstick and try burning the oil on the dipstick with a match; If the oil on the dipstick spatters, there is water in the engine oil.[Gasket or crack]
2014/3/3· 1995 Bad Boy Softail. The engine pukes oil constantly out of the crankcase breather hose until there is no oil left, not just on start up. According to my customer, it was rebuilt around 4000 miles ago. It has 170 lbs of compression in both cylinders and passes the
2008/3/13· check that front diff breather valve for oil anyway. you "might" be able to get your hand up on top of the tranny to feel for oil around the breathers but it ain''t easy. best to pull the console and inner boot. note the valve at the back of the 5sp. That breather is for the
2017/11/12· There''s no sign at all in the box or in the breather pipe so I''m not too worried about too much oil in the filter. I imagine it might need changing every so often but not as a regular thing. I just used an old bolt and a rubber washer to seal the hole in the airbox.
2010/1/25· yeah when i take off that hose on my truck (intake i have has a 2 ft hose going to that breather) you can see it push out smoke with some force, not just slowly flowing out. -Jonathan 2000 Sonoma Extended cab 2.2L 5 Speed with Hurst short throw shifter, 3/4 Drop on staggered gray boss 338 18s, Flowmaster original 40 series.
I took the external breather off and ran a long hose from it straight up, with the bike running and the breather on the end of the hose until it stopped blowing out. Then I changed my oil. Hope
2011/3/1· gear oil or tranny I dont think its gear oil. What you did wouldn''t have added that much oil in it? So now does it smell like transmission oil or gear oil. That will be the easiest to determine where its coming from. Remeer the diff is you used your Royal Purple 75/90.
2012/12/9· The sludge issue is a genuine one, but has no bearing on the oil smell in the cabin, that''ll be a breather pipe/ elbow/ valve under the inlet manifold. If you know what''s gone, you will be able to do it in place. However, if you can the sludge issue is not to be ignored
2017/4/10· I heard that if you put the correct amount of oil in the bike you will sometimes get a little oil breather tube leak so since then I have made sure I''m 1/4 to 1/2 quart low. But I still have this oil leak that drips down on to the clutch case cover. Looks like its accumulating
To find a crankcase air leak, you can lightly pressurize (no more than 1 to 3 psi) the crankcase with shop air via the dipstick tube or oil filler cap or breather after blocking all the other vents. Do not use any more air pressure than this or you may create leaks where there were no leaks before.
2009/12/21· oil leak/oil breather? Hi guys I`m really new to diesels but agood mechanic when it comes to gas engines. I just bought an 04 dodge ram 2500 5.9 L last week and have a question or two. 98.5 3500 5sp, tst pm3, superchips, bosch 300 inj., afe intake, triple a pillar
Excess oil in the engine can cause the oil to foam and be blown out through the breather which generally feeds into the air filter. If you can, disconnect the breather hose and push it into a tall bottle with a narrow throat, such as a coke PET bo

This will result in oil loss through the breather system and also past the oil control rings, the latter causing further problems e.g. plug fouling, power loss, etc. 2) Any filler or breather aperture should be baffled, especially if it is above or adjacent to rotating parts.
2010/7/15· I find the breather hose into the cross over air intake pipe a god send, no need for flash lube, the oil vapours from the crankcase are doing a fine job, the harder it revs the greater the crankcase air circulation and the more oil mist into the air, and much less oil on
This efficient no-smell filter is indispensable in waste water and holding tank systems. When installed in the breather line it prevents unpleasant odours to escape. Toilet waste tanks require an air breather line, through which unpleasant odours may esca
I have a 660 grizzly that is getting alot of oil out of the breather hose and into the air box. Could it be a bad oil filter. I have only put about 20 hours on the machine since I changed the oil. I did check and it wasn''t overfilled when the oil was changed, and now there
